Halloween Rolo Bats
I saw these super adorable Googly Eye Pretzel Kisses from Lauren Kelly Nutrition. I loved them and so planning on making them for my kids’ class Halloween parties. But I wanted to make more than just a cute little ghost, I thought it would be fun to make some other cute & spooky characters with those adorable googly eyes and that is when I thought of using Rolos to make some bats. I was struggling with how to make the wings, but then after looking in my candy cupboard I saw the black Twizzlers and my problem was solved. These Halloween Rolo Bats are beyond adorable and SO EASY! My kids even made them for their teachers.

While Halloween can get over-complicated with costumes, parties and well mainly costumes, it doesn’t have to be too hard. Simple treats like these Halloween Rolo Bats still add to the party while not taking too much time.

How do you make Halloween Rolo Bats?

Preheat oven to 175 degrees.

Layout pretzels on a baking sheet, unwrap Rolo candies and place on top of the pretzels. Place in oven and bake for 3-5 minutes, until chocolate is soft. Do not over bake these, because when the chocolate hardens they will get a white outer edge if you bake them too long.

While chocolate is baking, cut up the Twizzlers. One Twizzler you can cut into 6 even pieces, don’t overcomplicate it, any size will work. Then once you have 6 pieces, cut each piece diagonally. This makes the wings.

Once the chocolate is soft remove the pan from the oven immediately place to Twizzler piece, the larger side of the “wing” into the chocolate. Do each side at the same time, so that the pretzel doesn’t get pushed around the pan. Push the wings into the chocolate and immediately top two googly eyes on top of the Rolo, gently press in the eyes.

Repeat with remaining Rolos, pretzels, “wings” and eyes.

I like to do 12 pretzels at a time. This allows you enough time to add wings and eyes to each bat before the chocolate starts to harden.
