Ingredients

  • 4 lbs boneless skinless chicken breasts about 5-6 chicken breasts
  • 18 ounce bottle of Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 12 ounces peach preserves

Instructions

  • Add the Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce to the crockpot. Add 1/4 cup of water to the bottle of the BBQ sauce and return the lid, shake the bottle and then pour the remaining sauce and water mixture into the crock pot. This makes sure you get all of the sauce out of the jar!
  • Next, add the peach preserves to the sauce and mix together.
  • Add the brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and red pepper flakes to the slow cooker and mix together.
  • Add the chicken to the sauce in the slow cooker and turn it over so that the chicken breasts are coated in the sauce.
  • Cook on high for 4 to 5 hours, or until the chicken is falling apart and tender.
  • Shred the chicken using two forks and pull apart. Or better yet, add the chicken to your mixer and using the paddle attachment, turn the mixer on low and shred easily this way. Less mess too!
  • Serve with bread, over rice, on top of a salad or rolled up in a tortilla, so many things to do with this amazing BBQ chicken recipe.
