Ingredients
3slicesbacon
10tablespoonssalted butter
1 1/2cupslight brown sugarfirmly packed
2tablespoonswater
1/4teaspoonsalt
1/2cupheavy cream
1teaspoonvanilla extract
Instructions
In a medium skillet or sauce pan cook bacon over medium high heat until bacon is completely cooked and crunchy. Once the bacon is cooked, remove bacon from pan onto a plate lined with paper towel.
Leave the bacon grease in the pan and add butter, brown sugar, water, and salt. Place over medium-high heat and constantly stir until butter melts.
Once butter has melted, reduce heat to medium and bring to a rolling boil for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally so that it doesn't overflow.
Chop the bacon up into very small pieces.
After caramel has boiled for 5 minutes, remove from heat and stir in heavy cream, bacon crumbles, and vanilla extract. Place back on heat and cook for another 1-2 minutes, constantly stirring. Remove from heat.
Let the caramel rest 10 minutes to thicken. Serve with anything, and enjoy!
