Triple Chocolate Cake

This Triple Chocolate Cake is a rich, fudge-like chocolate cake with chocolate chips and topped with a chocolate frosting. It is a chocolate lovers dream.

Ingredients

  • 1 chocolate cake mix
  • 4 ounce instant chocolate pudding
  • 1/3 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 2 large eggs
  • 12 ounce package chocolate chips

Chocolate Frosting/Glaze

  • 3 tablespoons butter cut into ½ inch squares.
  • ¾ cup dark chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon corn syrup

Optional Toppings

  • 1 cup mini-chocolate chips
  • sprinkles

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Grease and flour a bundt pan and set aside.
  • In a large mixing bowl mix together all of the dry ingredients: cake mix, pudding, and flour.
  • Beat in water, milk, eggs, and vanilla until smooth.
  • Stir in 12-ounce bag of semi-sweet chocolate chips.
  • Pour into prepared bundt pan for 50-55 minutes until cake springs back when lightly touched. Cook cake for 15 minutes on cooling rack, then turn cake over on cake plate or stand. Top with powdered sugar (what my mom does) or prepare chocolate frosting.
  • In a double boiler over medium heat combine butter, chocolate chips, and corn syrup. Stir until completely melted and well incorporated. Drizzle over cake and sprinkle with mini-chocolate chips, sprinkled or just devour.
