Orange Sugar Cookies

  • 1 1/4 cups white sugar
  • 1 cup butter
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 1/2 teaspoon orange extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1/2 Minneola orange juiced
  • 4 tablespoons Minneola orange zest
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest

Orange Creamsicle Frosting

  • 4 1/2 cups confectioners' sugar
  • 1 Minneola orange juiced
  • 4 tablespoons Minneola orange zest
  • 1/2 cup butter softened
  • 2 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 2-3 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon orange flavoring


Orange Sugar Cookies

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C). Lightly grease 2 cookie sheets.
  • Cream together sugar, orange and lemon zest, orange juice and butter. Beat in egg yolks and orange extract.
  • Add flour, baking soda, and cream of tartar. Stir.
  • Form dough into walnut size balls and place 2 inches apart on cookie sheet. Don't flatten. Bake 10-12 minutes, until tops are cracked and just turning color.

Orange Creamsicle Frosting

  • In a large bowl, cream together the cream cheese and butter until well combined, add confectioners' sugar until smooth. Gradually mix in the milk, orange extract, orange zest, and juice with an electric mixer until smooth and stiff, about 5 minutes.
  • Frost each cookie with the frosting, then top with extra zest if you'd like. Enjoy!
