Pie Filling
1/2cupbutter
2ouncesunsweetened chocolate
1cupsugar
2eggs
1teaspoonvanilla extract
cool whipoptional topping
Crust
4cupsall-purpose flour
1 3/4cups shortening
3tablespoonssugar
1egg
1/2cupwater
OR1 pre-made pie crust
Instructions
Crust
Mix together flour and salt. Cut shortening into flour until it resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in egg. Slowly pour in water while mixing until the dough sticks together. Place in fridge for an hour, then roll out into a 12-inch disk. Spread in pie pan. You can also use a premade pie crust to make this easier.
Filling
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Melt the butter and chocolate together.
Add sugar, eggs, and vanilla, stir until well combined.
Bake in unbaked pie crust shell for 35 minutes. Chill in fridge until ready to serve. Top with cool whip or homemade whipped topping if you'd like. Enjoy!
