Baked Bang Bang Chicken Wings

Thank you to Target and Mode Media for sponsoring this post today.

Thanks to a tradition of great football here in Colorado, the end of the football season finds our family obsessively nail-biting, yelling at the tv, throwing parties, and of courseโ€ฆ eating. Our family tradition for the Super Bowl always includes an annual foodie football championship, which consists of my husband and I facing off in an epic food battle. The winner gets the credit and determines the menu for the big game. This year, our kids did what they like best and judged the results (easily the most honest and toughest critics I know).

For the last month, weโ€™ve breathed orange and blue, cheering on Peyton Manning and the Broncos as they head to their second Super Bowl in four years. The Bronco fever has spread, taking over our Super Bowl Party theme and inspiring our 2015 foodie football challenge. Everything is orange and blue.

Thanks to Target, I was able to pick up coordinated party supplies, essential products and all the food in just one stop. And there was plenty available in my teamโ€™s colors. The kids loved the gumballs and straws, while I loved the old school Crush soda bottles and, well, the food.

This yearโ€™s challenge: wings.

I chose orange and came up with these Baked Bang Bang Chicken wings. A perfect mix of sweet chili and spice, these Baked Bang Bang Chicken Wings are full of flavor, but not too hot for the kids. Theyโ€™re baked too, making them healthier than fried wings, but theyโ€™re still bursting with flavor.

These beat my husbandโ€™s Black and Blue wings 3-2, thanks to my five-year-old casting the deciding vote. With a blue cheese and cracked pepper balsamic vinaigrette, these wings were secretly my personal favorite, but Iโ€™ll still take the win.

After trying both, it looks like weโ€™ll have orange and blue at the big game to satisfy everyone. And if itโ€™s any sign of whatโ€™s to come, it looks like the second coming of the Orange Crush has the edge already. Not only will these wings score with your fellow fans, you will be just as happy picking up all the Super Bowl Party essentials at Target, your one stop Super Bowl Party stop.
