  • Pure maple syrup
  • Unsweetened chocolate baking bar
  • Vanilla extract
  • Powdered sugar
  • Shredded sweetened coconut
  • Chopped pecans
  • Mini chocolate chips
  • Chopped pecans

For this recipe, I used 100% pure maple syrup to add a slight caramel flavor to the cheese ball and to counterbalance some of the bitterness from the chocolate.

Cheesecake Ball Tips

  • Be sure to use softened butter and cream cheese. It makes it a lot easier to mix.
  • Once you’ve wrapped the ball in plastic, it will keep for a few days in the refrigerator. So, you can make it ahead and add the toppings before you are ready to serve it.
  • Serve the cheesecake ball with graham crackers, chocolate cookies, or vanilla wafers for scooping.
