My husband made it up, well, kind of. We both grew up making No Bake Cookies – a staple for both of our childhoods. Every time he goes to make this recipe, he always is trying to figure out how he could leave out the oats. I like the oats, because without them you don’t have a cookie, all you have is a sauce. This Chocolate Peanut Butter Fondue in fact.
It was Christmas dinner in our home when we made for this Chocolate Peanut Butter Fondue for the first time aka No Bake Cookies Fondue. Makes sense right?
Who doesn’t just love the chocolate and peanut butter combination? Everyone in our family, including our little one, Jersey, who claims to hate peanut butter loves this fondue recipe. My husband made this peanut butter chocolate fondue after an amazing Christmas dinner which included Prime Rib, Best Ever Mashed Potatoes, and all the other classic sides, including homemade rolls.
Just a few days ago, he mentioned to me that we should have prime rib more than just once a year but that it needed to be saved for special occasions and immediately my mind went to Valentine’s – I mean that is the next holiday. It’s the perfect time to recreate the “perfect meal” and celebrate this day of love with the 6 people that I absolutely love the most.
I have already picked up all the ingredients at my local Safeway. A few months ago I went on a trip to Safeways headquarters where I learned all sorts of tips on how to make the perfect prime rib.
We not only got some amazing tips on food but as well on flowers! It was one of my favorite highlights. So while I was at Safeway I grabbed some debi lilly design™ flowers and paired it with this beautiful debi lilly design™ collection translucent bowl. I used a few of the tips that I learned from Debi Lilly herself to put together just the perfect centerpiece for our table. And I know with these tips I will get these flowers to last until Valentine’s Day as I have been using these tips since I got home and they have extended the life of my flowers.
- Trim your flowers under running water.
- Cut off the bottom of the stems daily.
- Take off all the leaves, flowers or buds from the stem that will be in the water, this will help prevent unwanted bacteria.
What I love about the debi lilly design™ collection is that I can walk into the store and grab something that is beautiful and on-trend. From vases to stuffed bears and flower bouquets that you can gather to make your own arrangement to prearranged colorful bouquets that are ready to go, debi lilly design™ has everything ready for you right when you walk in the grocery store to make every occasion a special one or even just to make someone’s day a little brighter. I love that I can get groceries, stunning flower arrangements and my favorite Starbucks drink all in one place, it’s why I love my Safeway.
Be sure to check out the debi lilly design™ products at your local Safeway store. These products are available in my area exclusively at Safeway stores but you can also find them at all of the Albertsons Companies family of stores, including Albertsons, ACME Markets, Jewel-Osco, Vons, Pavilions, Randalls, Tom Thumb, Shaw’s, Star Market, United Express, United and Carrs/Safeway. I love my husband. And if it is even possible to love this man any more, I do for his genius idea of this Chocolate Peanut Butter Fondue. Early on in our relationship I learned that the way to his heart was food and I guess over time, it is the way to mine as well.
Chocolate and flowers, if you know me then you know that I love both of them. I always have freshly cut flowers in my house, it doesn’t matter the time of year I love having them around.
So I guess you could say that it could be Valentine’s Day in our home everyday with flowers, chocolate and the love of my life, life is pretty grand.
Try out this Chocolate Peanut Butter Fondue either this Valentine’s Day or any other day, you have a sweet tooth craving because chocolate and peanut butter are the answer to so many things. Enjoy friends. XOXO San
