Peanut butter protein balls are the perfect snack.

I was looking for something for my kids to grab real quick between their games, whether basketball or volleyball or between dance classes or races at a track meet. All the kids typically need a little pick-me-up in between the same to keep them going, especially when their games or running events are back-to-back.

While plenty of store-bought options exist, this is a money saver + bonus because everyone loves them. Typically, with store-bought bars or snacks, only one or two kids will like the same one, so I end up with several flavors, which feels like a waste.

Peanut butter protein balls are a perfect choice whether you’re running the kids around in the afternoon or feel like a snack. Not only do they provide an enjoyable and delicious treat without skimping on nutrition, but they’re also incredibly convenient to make.

All you need is some nut butter, oats, flaxseed (if desired), and chocolate chips (or mini M&M’s, our preference) if you like your treats extra chocolatey–and presto, in no time at all, you have a protein-packed snack that will help tide you over until lunch or dinner.

Either way, peanut butter protein balls are the way to go if you need something to keep your energy up throughout the day.

They’re easy to make and only require a few ingredients.

If you’re struggling to find a quick, easy snack that packs an energy-filled punch, peanut butter protein balls are the answer. Made with just a few ingredients, they are ideal when you need a burst of energy in a hurry. Whether you make them ahead of time or whip them up quickly before you leave, these peanut butter protein balls provide delicious fuel for all your tasks.

How to make peanut butter energy balls

Combine all ingredients except the chocolate chips or M&Ms in a medium bowl. Stir to combine, and I like to use my kitchen aid mixer to make sure it is well mixed together.

Stir in the mini chocolate chips or M&M’s.

Roll out to 24 bites, you can make them larger and 12. To simplify this, I use a cookie dough scooper with 0.5 capacity.

How to store protein balls

  • If you’ve taken the time to make homemade protein balls, you want to store them so that they stay fresh and delicious. The best way to keep your homemade protein balls is in an airtight container in a cool, dry place for up to four days.
  • After the four days, place the protein balls in the refrigerator for up to one week or freeze them for extended storage. And don’t forget – homemade protein balls are incredibly delicious when fresh!

It is great source of protein

Are you looking for a no-bake way to keep your energy up throughout the day? Look no further than these no-bake peanut butter protein balls! This yummy treat is packed with protein and takes no time to prepare.

With no baking required, you can whip up a batch in just a few minutes and get on with your day. Enjoy as an afternoon snack or post-workout fuel – they’re sure to help give you that extra energy boost!

Pump the protein in your peanut butter protein balls with a flaxseed meal! This versatile ingredient can be added easily to any recipe, boosting nutrition and omega-3 fatty acids. Integrate flax seed into your protein balls for an additional layer of crunch and a hefty dose of fiber. And unlike some plant-based protein sources, flax seed never has a strong flavor, so its addition won’t detract from the nutty sweetness that makes peanut butter balls so popular.

If you add a flax seed meal, you will need to increase the amount of water by one tablespoon, two tablespoons of peanut butter + extra 1/4 cup of oats.

I don’t use the flaxseed meal because my kids are not fans.
