50 Thanksgiving Side Dishes To Be Grateful For – traditional to modern twists, from slow cooker to the oven baked; we have all of your favorites covered.
I love Thanksgiving and it isn’t because of the turkey. If it were up to me I would skip the bird and just make all the side dishes and desserts. anyone else with me?
Check out all my favorites. And guess what most of these recipes are easy! The only recipe out of this whole round up I wouldn’t miss is my mom’s Italian Stuffing.
I honestly can’t believe that Thanksgiving is only a week away. While I have been sharing many holiday recipes, the fact that I will be dressing the turkey, table, and house blows my mind. These past few months have flown by. And I can’t believe that we are talking Christmas and Black Friday shopping!
And while you may be on top of it, I am still trying to narrow down what will be at my Thanksgiving feast this year. We, of course, will have the traditional classics, but I am eyeing a few of these to add. And you can bet I will be trying those Slow Cooker Mashed Potatoes!
Enjoy and Happy {early} Thanksgiving. XOXO San
Some fun Thanksgiving dinner tips!
What is served at a traditional Thanksgiving dinner?
- Perfect Roast Turkey
- Scalloped Corn {my personal fav!}
- Stuffing
- Roasted Sweet Potato Casserole with Praline
- Salad
- Potato Gratin
- Green Beans with Bacon {yum}
- Dinner Rolls, of course!
- Pumpkin Pie, what would Thanksgiving be without this?
- Cranberry Sauce
How do you keep your turkey moist?
- Choose a fresh turkey instead of a frozen one.
- Brine the turkey. …
- Rub soft butter under the skin; I love garlic and herb butter!
- Truss loosely, or not at all.
- Roast the turkey upside down at first; my favorite tip!
- Don’t overcook it, the biggest problem right?! Use a meat thermometer.
- Let the turkey rest before carving, don’t get overly excited. Like my mom says, “patience is a virtue”.
What can be made ahead of time for Thanksgiving dinner?
- Gravy.
- Cranberry Sauce.
- Stuffing. {My personal favorite stuffing recipe is this Best Ever Italian Stuffing.}
- Green Beans.
- Pumpkin, Sweet Potato, or Squash.
- Rolls.
- Pies. {Check this Chocolate Pecan Cranberry Pie recipe for tips on pie baking.}
