Rudolph Popcorn is a cinnamon chocolate kettle corn, with red hots as his nose and pretzel sticks antlers. This will be an instant holiday favorite treat.
Rudolph the red nose reindeer had a very shiny nose….come on you know this one, I am already singing it, as well as all my kids and their friends that are over. We love making festive snacks here at our home and the Christmas season makes it so much more fun!
I try to make snacks around some of their favorite songs and stories on the holiday. Just like I did the Deconstructed Snowman Popcorn, this Rudolph Popcorn is sort of that same idea.
But this my favorite by far! As the combination of the chocolate and cinnamon…mmm…perfect touch of sweetness, with just a tiny little cinnamon bite. The kids love the “noses” and the “eyes”.
Not only is this a great snack for home, but fun to take to parties! This will become one of your most requested treats to make this year and the years to come. And the best part of this treat…easy to make in less than 15 minutes! Allowing more time to you spend the holiday with your family and friends and less time in the kitchen but still offering a festive and delicious treat!
Enjoy! XOXO San
How do you make Rudolph Popcorn?
-
Plug-in the Stir Crazy and pour in the oil and add popcorn. In a small bowl mix the sugar and cinnamon together. Wait a minute or two to let the popcorn kernels covered in oil, then add the sugar and cinnamon evenly over the popcorn kernels.
-
Place lid on the Stir Crazy and wait for all kernels to be popped. Once all the kernels are popped, un-plug and turn over stir crazy. Pour out onto 2 ft. x 2 ft. piece of wax paper and let it cool. Follow instructions below for toppings.*
-
Pour the oil and corn kernels in a large pot over med-high heat (make sure you use one that has a tight-fitting lid). Place the lid on top of the pot and mix it around a few times directly on burner.
-
In a small bowl mix the sugar and cinnamon together. Then add sugar directly on top of the corn kernels.
-
Replace lid and shake the pot in circular motion on the burner, until you hear the kernels start to pop.
-
Continue to shake in a circular motion while the kernels are popping until they are all completely popped, when there are about 2-3 seconds between pops.
-
Remove from heat and pour out onto 2 ft. x 2 ft. piece of wax paper and let it cool.
-
*Melt dark chocolate in the microwave, I started with 1 minute then stir and heat for another 30-45. Stir again until completely melted, no chunks.
-
Drizzle over popcorn, then top with red hots and pretzels; then mix together using two large spoons and slightly turning the popcorn, pretzels and red hots over one another, until all of the mix is mostly covered.
-
Once chocolate has cooled and hardened, add in eyeballs and serve.
-
Use pre-popped popcorn, 16 cups. Spread out the popcorn on wax paper. Use the same amounts of chocolate, cinnamon, red hots, and pretzel sticks as mentioned above.
