This Deconstructed Snowman Popcorn is such a fun and festive snack to make for your kids as an after school or holiday party treat.
My kids’ favorite winter song is โOnce There Was a Snowmanโ. They start singing it the first day it snows. I love it when we get like a 1/4 inch and they are asking to go and build a snowman. So hard to explain to a 4-year-old and sometimes even my 11-year-old, this wonโt work.
This fun snack is a tribute to this song. If you know it, then you will know what I mean, if not you need to check it out. The gist of it is that once there was a snowman and he was tall, tall, tall, but in the sun it melted, small, small, small. In this treat the โsnowmanโ is small, small, small.
The white chocolate covered popcorn resembles the snow, the mini M&Mโs the buttons on his belly, the pretzel sticks, and his arms. The mini Reeseโs peanut butter cups are his hat. The candy eyes are well in fact, his eyes and lastly the orange Tic-Tacs are his โcarrotโ nose.
You could interchange the Tic-Tacs for orange chocolate covered sunflower seeds, my preference but you canโt just get those individually in the store, you need to order them through Amazon, and so the Tic-Tacs are the easiest replacement.
Enjoy this fun and festive treat, your kids will love it and well, you will too.
Enjoy! XOXO San
How do you make Deconstructed Snowman Popcorn?
-
In a small glass mixing bowl, add in white chocolate melting chips and melt following package directions for the microwave, mine took 1 1/2 minutes to melt.
-
Lay out two large pieces of wax paper, top with popcorn and then pour melted chocolate over the popcorn, toss around with your hands making sure to coat the popcorn well with the chocolate.
-
Add in 3/4 cup coconut, mini M&Mโs, candy eyeballs and Tic-Tacs. Mix around again with the popcorn and chocolate so that some of the pieces stick together with the popcorn. You may use more chocolate if needed, just melt it and then add to mix.
-
Let it sit for 5-7 minutes while chocolate hardens.
-
Once chocolate has hardened, place in a large mixing or serving bowl, add in pretzel sticks and mini Reeseโs peanut butter cups. Toss to mixture together and serve.

Kids Review: They loved this; it was an instant hit. We may change this up a bit and not add coconut or the white chocolate every time as suggested by my son, Madden.
