We love putting creative twists on rice krispie treats, and with strawberry being one of our favorite summer flavors, this recipe seemed like the perfect idea. You can explore countless variations, but this one truly stands out.

Made with just four ingredients, these treats are easy to make and only take about 10 minutes of active prep time. Plus, they’re no-bake, so you won’t have to turn on your oven and heat up your house in the summer heat.

Ingredients

  • Salted butter
  • Marshmallows โ€“ large or mini, but we prefer the large ones
  • Rice Krispies Cereal
  • Strawberry Preserves

To add a little extra flair, you can also drizzle melted white chocolate over the top or mix in some dried strawberries into the cereal mixture before pressing it into the pan. These treats are also easily customizable.

Sandra’s Tips

  • For the best Rice Krispie treats, use fresh marshmallows. Even slightly stale ones can make your treats crispy and hard instead of soft and delicious.
  • Love ooey-gooey treats? Try not to melt the marshmallows all the way! I like to melt them until they’re almost smooth but still have some lumps of unmelted goodness. That’s how you get those delightful gooey marshmallow pulls when you break apart a treat!
  • Be sure to use strawberry preserves, not strawberry jelly. The preserves are a little thicker and have a better texture, while the jelly becomes more watery and is not ideal when putting it all together.
