This Sour Cream Fruit Dip recipe is an old family favorite handed down to me by my mom. It has three simple ingredients and takes just minutes to make. It’s the best dessert to share at potlucks and BBQs – pair it with fruit, graham crackers, and cookies for the easiest dessert ever.

Growing up we only had this sour cream dip for special occasions like holidays, bridal showers, or baby showers. I’m not sure why my mom didn’t make it more often because it is so easy. Three ingredients, friends, that’s all you need!

It’s super creamy with a little tang from the sour cream. Add in some vanilla pudding and you get a sweet dip that just begs for some graham crackers, cookies, and fresh fruit for dipping. This is the fruit dip recipe I’ll be making all summer long for BBQs, block parties, and potlucks.

We love it with a variety of fruit and cookies!

For parties, I like to make a batch of fruit dip and serve it with fruit trays so everyone has some choices. I like to sneak in a little cookie platter, too!

  • Other fruits include sliced bananas, apples, melons, peaches, pears, and mangos.

  • Pretzels also work great!

Can you make different flavors?

Yes, it’s easy to change the flavor of this easy vanilla fruit dip recipe just by changing the instant pudding mix. As long as it pairs well with sour cream, it will work great. Here are some other flavors you can try:

This is the best! It’s so easy and so so tasty. I would also just remind everyone that there’s nothing wrong with dipping Nilla wafers, graham crackers, or cookies into this stuff.

You know, it always seems odd to put sour cream in something like this. It’s soooooo tasty, though. YUM!!!!

I made the Sour Cream Fruit Dip for a family gathering last weekend, and it was an absolute hit! The creaminess of the dip paired so well with the freshness of the fruit.
