Buffalo Chicken Poppers is a mild popper filled with chicken, cheese, green onions, and Frank’s Hot Sauce, served with homemade Blue Cheese Sauce.
My husband and kids love chicken wings! Especially barbequeย and hot wings. Me not so much! I guess itโs the mom in me that is against anything that takes 50 wet ones to clean up or the fact that they have so little meat on them that you have to order like 60 to even satisfy a couple of people. With that being said, we are quickly approaching the AFC & NFC Championship football games where the Broncos are taking on the New England Patriots.
We have high hopes that the Broncos are going to be playing in the Super Bowl this year! So it is time for meย to get my game on or game food on the table that is. This yearโs playback highlight will be these Buffalo Chicken Poppers. Below I give you the play by play on how to make this amazing game snack, making you the household food champion of this yearโs football season.
Enjoy! XOXO San
How do you makeย Buffalo Chicken Poppers?
-
Heat oil in a deep saute pan or Fry Daddy to 350 F.
-
Pick the meat off the chicken and discard the skin. Place the chicken in a large bowl and add the hot sauce, pepper, cheese, and scallions, and toss to combine. Roll the chicken into 2-ounce balls, about the size of a golf ball.
-
Place the flour, eggs, and bread crumbs in 3 separate bowls. Roll each ball in the flour, then the egg and then the bread crumbs. Set aside.
-
Fry the chicken balls in heated oil in batches. Cook for about 2 minutes per batch. Remove the chicken to paper towel lined plate to drain the excess oil.
-
Combine all ingredients in a large bowl and adjust the seasoning if necessary. Serve the chicken alongside the dipping sauce.

Kids review: Score! Touch down with these. I loved them even more after watching them eat them as they didnโt require the massive amount of wet ones or wipe downs as chicken wings do. Only our oldest child loved the blue cheese sauce, the others wanted ketchup.

These look amazing! My husband and I love wings and usually opt for the boneless ones since they are easier to eat. Can’t wait to try these out. Thanks for sharing! Pinning ๐

Thanks for coming over – see you next week for sure! San
These look definitely like they belong in our snack line this Sunday for the football game. ๐ Looking forward to making them (and they don’t look too difficult to make :)) Thank you for the post!
Sandra, these look SO much easier to eat than regular wings (which are delicious but a disaster to eat)! We always make a big batch of wings over the holidays with my 10 year old nephews. They get a kick out of seeing just how spicy they can go with their sauce. I’ll have to try these with them next year! Pinning for later ๐
Amy – they will love these! Add extra Franks hot sauce – they will love it. 10 year old boys eat more than most adults, so maybe double the batch…lol! xoxo San
These look awesome for a game night! I’m in San Francisco and the 49ers are playing this Sunday and thinking of making this recipe for it. Pinning it now! Thanks for sharing ๐

Sandra – I hope you are able to make them they are so good! If you are making these for adults you can add some extra hot sauce! I would if my kids weren’t here eating them too! (lol)
Have a great weekend. Used to travel the bay area all the time and miss it so much especially – Sonoma area beautiful!!! Let me know how it goes if you do it. See you around. Followed you back on FB and Twitter. xoxo San
I could use a dash of sanity after this week! This chicken looks great, think the hubby and I will love it!!
Terry – Wish we were neighbors and I would bring some “sanity” to you! Thank goodness for the weekend! And a 3 day weekend at that. xoxo San

I can’t wait to try these! I also love buffalo wings and have complained in the past that there wasn’t enough meat on the bones. I think this is the perfect alternative!
Thanks so much for sharing on Turn It Up Tuesday! We love having you! ๐
LOVE these Sandra and your photo is amazing. Makes me want to reach in and grab them all! Am visiting from the Happiness Homemade Link Party!
I would much rather have these than wings. Wings are to much work, and these sound too good to pass up.
I’d love if you would drop by my Super Bowl Eats and Treats Linky Party, and share your recipe! You can link up any crafts, appetizers, sandwiches, desserts, anything that says “Super Bowl” to you! We would love to have you!

Thank you for this great recipe! I made it for a Superbowl Party yesterday. It was a contest and I won! Yay! It was great! I made the balls a little smaller so it would be 1 bite.
Hi Sandra! These look amazing! Just wondering if you have any idea of an estimated amount of chicken, the one I have is about 4 lbs. Thanks!!
