Pumpkin Churros on a plate with Chocolate Dipping Sauce in a small dipping cup

I love churros! Love them. It recently occurred to me that I had never made them. My children had yet to experience this sweet, cinnamon and sugar-coated pastry. A churro, referred to as a Spanish doughnut, is a fried-dough pastry traditionally sprinkled with sugar and served with hot chocolate or cafรฉ con leche, a Spanish coffee.

I wanted our churro to have some depth and additional flavor, so I thought a pumpkin churro would bring in a wonderful medley of spices including cinnamon, cloves, ginger, and nutmeg. A warm chocolate sauce to dip our pumpkin churro in would round this dish out to be the perfect Sunday afternoon football dessert.

A sweet ending to yet another Bronco victory. Enjoy! XOXO San

Kids review: Sad to say but this was the first time they had ever had churros! They loved them. Of course, the boys had several comments about what they look like, you know exactly where their minds went. This has already been requested to be a regular for Sunday night football.
