Bacon Cheddar Ranch Dip – Easy to throw together & addictive. This dip is loaded with bacon, cheddar cheese & ranch, all the fixings of awesomeness.
There’s ranch dip, and then there’s this ranch dip loaded with all kinds of delicious flavors. Ready to devour in five minutes!
If you need a super easy, super delicious dip you have come to the right place. This ranch dip is loaded with crowd-pleasing things like bacon, shredded cheddar cheese, and green onions all mixed up in a creamy, scoopable dip.
And not only is it delicious, but it’s so simple to make and you can make it ahead to make life a little easier. Just don’t be surprised when it disappears in a flash – no one can stop with just one bite.
I am pretty much a dip fanatic and this Ranch Dip is by far my favorite dip I have made. I was inspired to make this recipe after doing a holiday round-up for 50 of the Best Holiday Appetizers. There were so many delicious appetizers and I knew I was going to make at least 2/3 of them before Christmas.
The 5-Minute Million Dollar Dip aka Neiman Marcus Dip from my friend Alyssa was one of my favorites, mainly because it was so easy to throw together. And because we are obsessed with Homemade Ranch Dressing this seemed like a natural pairing.
But since I am not a huge mayo fan, I wanted to play with the base of the dip to make it more suitable for me. So I added sour cream and since ranch dressing is a family favorite, I threw in some ranch seasoning and viola we became instant addicts.
- Sour cream
- Mayonnaise – I use Best Foods with olive oil
- Ranch salad dressing & seasoning mix packet
- Chopped green onions
- Grated cheddar cheese
- Cooked and crumbled bacon or bacon bits
The bacon and the cheddar cheese add just enough saltiness to take away the tangy from the mayo and sour cream. The green onions add some depth to the flavor and well after the first bite, I had at least 8 more.
NOTE: I am sure Greek yogurt might work as well my friend Brianne uses it in her Greek Yogurt Ranch Dip and it turned out great.
How to Make Ranch Dip
In a medium mixing bowl combine the sour cream, mayonnaise, and ranch seasoning.
Add the green onion, grated cheddar cheese, and bacon. Stir until the ingredients are well combined.
You can serve it right away or chill it in the refrigerator for one to two days.
Serve it with your favorite crackers or chips or add some veggies like celery and carrot sticks.
This Bacon Cheddar Ranch Dip also works as a fantastic as a spread for a sandwich or roll-up as well.
The first time I made this, I tried to tell my hubs to back off because we were actually taking it to a party and honestly I was shocked it made it there.
I love eating it with a variety of dippers from crackers to chips and carrots. But, honestly, I can eat it by the spoonful, too!
This Bacon Cheddar Ranch Dip will quickly become your to-go-to appetizer whether it be for the holidays, football tailgating or college basketball playoffs. Enjoy friends. XOXO San
See how easy this is to throw together for you next game day party.

Delicious recipe!! Happy new year 🙂
I used only 1/4 cup of mayo. This recipe kinda tastes like a fully loaded baked potato! And needs to be made ahead of time to allow the flavors to marry. Very good for football Sundays!!

I make this but with a 24 oz sour cream & no mayo & we call it loaded potato dip. You dip it with ruffles & that’s your potato. I’ll have to try it with the mayo. But yes, you’re right, so quick & easy to throw together. Cutting up the green onions is the hardest thing to do.
I know this dip is going to go quickly at my party this Sunday!! I’ll be sure to make a double batch!
With bacon in it….you know I’m a fan!! What a fantastic dip!
