After making my Andes Mint Muddy Buddies, I was in love. Then I saw the cherry chips at the store and this recipe came to mind. Here is a new twist on one of our favorite treats – Cherry Cordial Muddy Buddies… ’tis the season to be sugared….Fa-la-la, la-la, la, la!
How do you make Chocolate Cherry Cordial Muddy Buddies?

In a large paper bag add 1 3/4 cups of powdered sugar and set aside.

In a large bowl, melt cherry chips, chocolate chips, and margarine for 1 minute. Stir until completely melted, you may need heat for another 30 seconds.

Add cereal and mix until all pieces are coated with chocolate.

Pour into a paper bag with the powdered sugar, roll the top down and shake it until all pieces are well covered, I added a sprinkle or two more of powdered sugar to get them all completely coated.

- 3/4 cherry baking chips I used Log House brand from my local grocery store
- 3/4 cup 60% Cacao Ghirardelli bittersweet chocolate
- 6 tablespoons margarine

Kids review: I didn’t tell the kids what kind of Muddy Buddies it was. I just had them try it blindly. Aiden (10 years), “Mom did you use those cherry candies? It tastes just like them, you know the one the Grandpa Mac has.” Score! Just what I was going for. All the other kids loved them too, we are using these as teacher treats so they only got a few.
