Cooking chicken to get crispy skin and juicy meat can be tricky, but the air fryer can help! This delicious air fryer chicken thighs recipe will please even the pickiest eaters.

I enjoy baking various foods in my air fryer, such as pizza, chicken nuggets, vegetables, quesadillas, and crispy “fried” chicken. An air fryer is a healthier cooking option that still provides the crisp texture you’d get from deep-frying without the extra oil. This allows you to enjoy your favorite foods guilt-free while savoring their delicious taste and texture.

To make the flavor stand out for your chicken, you can either marinate it in advance or use a blend of spices and herbs for seasonings that I mention in the recipe. Coating the chicken in panko and parmesan cheese adds not only to the flavor but the crispiness of the chicken.

Air fryer chicken thighs are delicious because they have a crispy exterior and juicy meat but use less oil than traditional methods. They’re easy to make with just a little seasoning and attention to cooking time. Enjoy the healthier experience of “fried” chicken by preparing them in your air fryer.

Ingredients

Everything you need to make crispy chicken in your air-fryer.

  • Chicken thighs, boneless-skinless
  • Panko bread crumbs
  • Italian bread crumbs
  • Parmesan cheese
  • Eggs
  • Italian Dressing or pickle juice
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Granulated garlic
  • Onion powder

Tips for making crispy chicken in your air fryer

  • To make the ultimate crisp air fryer chicken things, pat the chicken thighs dry with a paper towel to remove excess moisture that could prevent the crisping process.
  • To ensure even cooking, please avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket. Please arrange the chicken thighs in a single layer, with some space in between them.
  • Flip them over halfway through the cooking process to achieve evenly cooked and browned chicken thighs with a perfect golden crust on both sides.
  • To avoid overcooking, it’s essential to monitor the cooking time of your chicken thighs, as it can vary based on their size and thickness. You can use a meat thermometer to ensure the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C), which is safe for consumption.

These look so good! I LOVE making panko fried anything in my air fryer. I actually enjoy it more than traditional fried food. Using thighs is a great way to deliver a ton of moist, tender flavor, too.
