Whether you’re looking for an easy weeknight dinner or need to feed a crowd, this Ravioli Lasagna is perfect!
Using just a few ingredients, it comes together quickly and easily.

This Ravioli Lasagna was inspired by none other than a trip to Costco. Let’s be real dinner time can be challenging, especially during the school year. And Costco makes dinner so much easier with their premade delicious dinners, like Ravioli Lasagna and Mongolian Beef, our two personal favorites.
With the ravioli casserole, one pan is not enough to feed our family of 7, so I always have to get two and there are never leftovers. I realized there are only a few base ingredients in this recipe, like ravioli, cheese, ricotta, and pasta sauce. I knew I could punch this out in a few minutes and then just let it bake.

This recipe is hit with everyone, and if you have the time, serve with some garlic bread or breadsticks and salad. And make it a complete meal by having dessert, something simple like no-bake cookies.
This incredible dish allows you to combine some of the greatest tastes in Italian cooking into one deliciously easy dinner or meal!

What Ingredients do you need for Ravioli Lasagna?
While you could really just make this recipe with 4-ingredients and make this just a cheesy lasagna. I have decided to amp it up a little, adding some Italian sausage, onion, and garlic.
Here is everything you need to get started:
- Italian Sausage – you could really use ground hamburger as well, but I love the flavor in Italian sausage.
- Onion – I prefer yellow onion, doesn’t overpower the dish but adds to the flavor, you could easily use any onion you have on hand, including shallots.
- Garlic – I mean do I need to explain this any further?
- Refrigerated cheese ravioli – you could really use any sort of ravioli, I like the cheese one because it is a solid base. What I love about this recipe, is that you do not need to cook the ravioli before! Time saver tip!
- Pasta sauce – our favorite jarred sauce is Rao, with incredible flavors and tastes like homemade. If you wanted homemade sauce, you can grab a recipe here.
- Mozzarella cheese – I love this finely shredded it just melts better, but overall if you have time to shred your own cheese from the block, it just melts prettier and tastes fresh.
- Low-fat ricotta cheese – you could really use full-fat ricotta as well, I mean go for it, or if you are watching the waste-line sub this for small curd cottage cheese.

Do you have to boil refrigerated ravioli before baking?
No, you don’t have to! And for this recipe, you don’t even need to adjust the baking time for not boiling the pasta before. If you decide to boil the pasta beforehand, you can shave off 5-10 minutes of the cooking time, but really just skip the step of cooking the pasta and just start assembling your dish.

How to Make Ravioli Lasagna
This simple lasagna takes just a few minutes together once you have your meat cooked. If you decide to leave out this meat this meal will only take 5-10 minutes to put together.
Basically, the key to this lasagna is all the layers. You really can’t mess this up.

- Preheat your oven.
- Cook the sausage, onion, and garlic, until the sausage, is all the way cooked through. Drain the grease from the meat and add it back to the pan.
- Pour the pasta sauce into the pan and mix together; set aside.
- Make your layers. Spread some of the meaty pasta sauce in an ungreased 13×9 baking dish.
- Layer with half the ravioli, some more sauce, and your ricotta cheese, and top with mozzarella.

- Add the remaining half the ravioli, some of the sauce, remaining low-fat ricotta cheese, and top with mozzarella.
- Add the remaining sauce and mozzarella cheese on top, place in the preheated oven and bake for 30-40 minutes.
- Remove from oven and cool for 5 minutes, top with fresh basil and parmesan cheese before serving.
