Easy Danish Recipe

I use Rhodes rolls as a secret shortcut for this recipe and let them do all the work. It’s my favorite way to make pastries in less time and hassle-free, yet retaining all the classic Danish look and taste.

I make this recipe all year long and switch up the fruit. During the summer, it’s all about raspberries and peaches, which is the version I’m sharing today.

I love the colors, the flavors, the perfect combination; the sweet peaches with the tart raspberries are a match made in heaven.

You can make this on a large baking sheet and then slice it into pieces – so much easier than making individual Danishes. Oh, and the crumb topping, I can’t forget that! It adds the perfect crunchy finish.

The cream cheese icing is the finishing touch, making this peach Danish irresistible. It is the perfect weekend breakfast or brunch dish made easy with prepared rolls.

rolls that have risen on a baking sheet.

To prepare the dough, spray a 15×10 cooking pan with cooking oil. Place 20 Rhodes rolls on the pan in four rows, five in each row. Set a towel over the rolls and allow them to rise. Set aside for 2-2 1/2 hours.

Once the rolls are risen, push them down using your palm over your hand. Use a rolling pin to roll them out on the pan. Take the edges of the rolls and pinch them together, as pictured.

Replace the towel to cover the rolls, and then prepare the peaches. Slice the peaches thinly, place in a sauté pan. Then top with butter, honey, cinnamon, lemon juice, and 1 tablespoon flour.

Spread peaches over rolls and leave a 1/2-inch border around the edge. The rolls will puff when they bake and the border will prevent the fruit from falling off the edge.

Top with the fresh raspberries and set aside. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

  1. None of the directions and recipe ingredients and amounts match in the photo directions or the recipe itself. Made this, but it was a guessing game. I am sure it will still be amazing, so I will check back to see if this has been edited. Thanks.
