I am pretty much a sugar-aholic. And while this is a struggle for me, I will do all that I can ie. workout for whatever time is needed to enjoy two things: Starbucks and chocolate cake.
When I was pregnant with all 5 of my kids, but especially my son Cannon I craved chocolate cake. Like, claw anyone’s face off if they get in the way between me and my homemade chocolate cake. I would like to say that I am kidding but rest assured I am not. {Ask the hubs.}
I’ve had to make a few public apologies, like the one here for my actions and words in regards to chocolate cake. It is like my lifeline to sanity. And while I giggle while I write that you have no idea how serious I am.
Lately I have been working on cutting down the number of sugary things I eat in a day and I am doing awesome. But it has had its side effects. I waited all week for my chocolate cake and then came date night, the night I saved my chocolate craving for but sadly after 3-4 bites I didn’t want any more. I was satisfied. SHOCKED at my own actions and feelings I realized I was satisfied. I had let myself enjoy something I really love and yet, I didn’t need to eat the whole cake to prove it. So my body will be happier {as well as the scale} and my chocolate heart was still beating with love.
So while I may eliminate other things to keep this semi-older body ticking, I will never EVER give up chocolate cake {or Starbucks}. So enjoy friends my search for some of the best chocolate around and don’t worry if I find a few more I will be sure to add them.
