French Onion Pork Chops are incredibly simple to prepare. Made in the slow cooker with pork chops and a few simple ingredients like caramelized onions and cheese, makes for an insanely delicious dish!

Whether you’re planning a quick holiday dinner or a relaxing Sunday supper with the family, this is one everyone will love.

In fact, the best part of this dish, besides the pork loin is the beef-onion broth. I could just drink it on it’s own, or dip french bread into it, like a nice french onion soup.

In other words, if you don’t listen to any other direction in this recipe (which is possible) listen to this; don’t skimp on caramelizing the onions. It really gives the entire dish a nice intense flavor, combined with the cheese, it’s insanely delicious.

Ingredients + what you need to make this recipe!

  • 1 large yellow onion
  • Butter
  • Salt & pepper
  • 2 lbs boneless pork chops, I prefer boneless for serving to my family
  • 1 packet onion soup mix
  • 1 can cream of mushroom
  • 1 cup beef broth

Have your slow cooker/crock pot ready to use and turned on to your preferred setting.

Next, you will need a nice medium to a large skillet to caramelize your onions. Note that the onions don’t need to be caramelized all the way through; as they will cook in the slow cooker with the rest of your ingredients.

While you can cook them just to a nice golden brown, we prefer a little more caramelized for flavor. I would suggest doing what time allows.

What do you serve these crock pot pork chops?

Mashed potatoes is our personal family favorite.

Surprisingly or not if you are a carb fan, coming in at a close second, would be homemade rolls are great because you can use them to wipe down your plate and get every last bit of deliciousness.

Of course, if you need some veggies (which you do!), I would recommend green beans, air fryer carrots, or roasted asparagus.

How do I know with the pork chops are done?

In spite of any other information, you have received growing up, when your mom used Shake n’ Bake and cooked your pork chops into a crunchy, chewy dish.

All in all, pork needs to be cooked to 145 ºF as measured with a food thermometer, this will achieve the juiciest and most tender pork loin.
